Mount Pleasant's village board unanimously approved Microsoft's site plans for 15 more data centers on two campuses, Durand Avenue (nine buildings) and International Drive (six buildings plus office space), on Jan. 26, 2026; in October the Plan Commission approved an amended Durand Avenue plan with seven larger data center buildings totalling over 5.8 million square feet, which awaits a village board vote.
